WE ARE IN DALLAS!!!

Well we made it all of the way to Dallas, TX. We have been here for a month (as of yesterday) and are loving the area. We have found a church, have made some friends, are getting involved in a small group, and Jenni and Dave Rost have been keeping us busy with things to do every weekend so far. It is a blessing to have them close by- for they know us better than anyone else does here. Robert started graduate school for Jazz Studies and auditioned for and got into Jazz Singers 1 group- which is a very exciting opportunity. He gets to travel to Chicago with them this December and has other performances through out the year. He is overwhelmed with the amount of talent that the University has to offer but is definitely encouraged to work hard. They told him, "It's not unusual for a graduate student to practice for 6 hours every day..." Wow! We definitely have to be sure to make time to see each other. However, I am guaranteed good music to listen to for the rest of my life.:) I love hearing him sing. We are looking forward to seeing what doors open up for him in the Jazz industry! We went to hear a Jazz band play last night and they were amazing. I must say that Jazz is a huge part of our lives now and I personally love the music and Robert has taught me to appreciate it in a new light...if any of you want to check out some amazing artists search: Kurt Elling, of course Ella Fitzgerald, Diana Krall, and Jane Monheit. They are my favorites as of now- beside Robert of course.
I love him so very much.

I have a job! It has been strange to be unemployed for over a month, but alas, I can finally say I am employed!!!!! I have been bored out of my mind, trapped in our apartment, and every day I wait for Robert to walk through the front door so that I can actually connect with another human being and have a face to face conversation. So as of today I am going to be the Marketing and Education Sales Coordinator for the Dallas Theater Center. Basically I will be the liaison between the Marketing and Education departments, assist in events, do all the marketing for the educational programs, make sure our house is sold out for the student matinees, and grow in many ways as a person...Wow. I have been so impressed by the Dallas Theater Center's programs. Their mission statement is to "Entertain, Engage, and Inspire our diverse community around us creating experiences that stimulate new ways of thinking and learning." I am pumped to be a part of that. They are also one of the only professional theaters in TX that offers the high quality educational programs that they do. I am proud to be connected with them now. This position is going to stretch me in many ways and be an amazing connection to the arts district in Dallas. I cannot wait! God is good and we have seen Him provide over and over again for our needs...

So that is the new and short:) update in our lives. We love you all and miss you greatly...

*Our Little Maddie*

I just wanted everyone to see our adorable niece Maddie. She is the daughter of my beautiful sister Melissa and her amazing husband Ben. Maddie is also the first grandbaby in our family. What a beautiful blessing she is!!

She is now one year old and such a happy girl!

Oh how we love Maddie!

Texas Here We Come!

Well friends and family, as most of you know by now....we are officially moving to Dallas Texas in August!!!!! Robert got into UNT! Robert and I went and visited Dallas a few weeks ago, fell in love with the city, Robert auditioned for the University of North Texas' Jazz Program for Graduate studies, and we got to see some of our dear friends Jenni and Dave...a great time was had. And now to think we are actually going to live there. It's so neat to see how God has directed our path these past few years....we are ready to close this chapter in Cedarville and move on to a greater adventure....

So...now these next months will be filled with some job hunting, checking out apartments, figuring out scholarships, looking for an agent, continuing writing thank yous for the wedding (wow....it takes forever), spending time with friends in the area, and continuing to spend time with our youth group. We absolutely love those kids and are going to miss them so much. What a blessing this time has been.

Hey! It's Robert...

"Maybe you just start typing..." That's how this entry started. It was Rebecca telling me what to do. Men, what they say is true. Once they get you, then they start bossing you around. :-P I'm just kidding. I needed help, and she helped. (she's looking over my shoulder, mad that I just said she was bossing me around.) Seriously though, she's not bossy.

Anyway, we are having fun here in Ohio just biding our time until we get to have a big adventure and move to Texas. At least, that's where we hope to go. I have an audition on February 9 at the University of North Texas. For what? Jazz Studies. Yes, that is cool. And yes, I AM nervous. However, Rebecca will be there with me, so I'm sure that will ease me all the more. I am sure we'll update you on the trip.

This weekend, we are going to have some fun. I get to travel to an Evangelism Conference to represent Cedarville University in West Virginia. Rebecca gets to come with me. We're staying in a hotel and get to eat good food... It's the perfect get away. My boss looked at me after he told me I was going and said, "Think of it as a second honeymoon. Just as good as Mexico, right?" Right...

Alright, I'll stop blabbing. Hope you all are doing well.

We haven't posted in quite sometime...we actually don't have internet currently but will be getting it very soon! This post comes from Brownsburg Indiana where we are visiting our dear friends- the Carters.
